Oversized Vehicle Parking Permit Program Enforcement Begins Feb. 1, 2025.
The Oversized Vehicle Parking Permit Program became effective on October 1, 2024, with applications opening on September 1, 2024, to provide residents ample time to comply with the new regulations.
Although the program is currently active, enforcement will begin on February 1, 2025. Starting on this date, the Manhattan Beach Police Department will issue citations to oversized vehicles parked without a valid permit. Violations may result in fines and potential towing at the owner's expense. This grace period is intended to give residents sufficient time to understand the requirements and secure the necessary permits.

PERMIT INFORMATION
If a resident or their guest would like to park an oversized vehicle (that exceeds one or more of the listed measurements above) on any City street, they will need a permit. If the oversized vehicle can be parked on the resident's property, a permit is not required.
Two types of permits will be available:
- Annual permit for a resident owned oversized vehicle
- Temporary permit for a resident's guest oversized vehicles
Both permit types must be applied for by a resident.
Information regarding the two permit types and their differences can be found below.
Electronic Application Process
In order to obtain a permit, residents will fill out an electronic application through the City's Citizen Self Service Portal. In addition to filling out the Oversized Vehicle Permit application, residents should be prepared to submit copies of the following documentation:
- Proof of Manhattan Beach residency:
- A California driver’s license or California ID card; AND
- Property tax bill, public utility bill, or current residential rental or lease agreement
- Proof of oversized vehicle registration from the California Department of Motor Vehicles or equivalent agency in another state, if applicable.
