Apply to Serve on the City of Manhattan Beach’s Art in Public Places Committee
The City of Manhattan Beach is seeking applications from residents and community stakeholders interested in serving on a roster of qualified individuals for future Art in Public Places Committees (APPC).
The APPC is a special project-specific committee formed for each public art initiative. Members play a vital role in shaping the cultural landscape of Manhattan Beach by reviewing and evaluating artist applications and helping to select artists to be recommended for public art projects throughout the city.
Serving on an APPC is a unique opportunity to:
-
Contribute to the growth of public art in Manhattan Beach
-
Support the City’s vision for arts and culture
-
Ensure that public art reflects the character and values of the community
-
Gain hands-on experience in the artist selection and public art process.
The City welcomes applications from residents, artists, design professionals, cultural leaders, and community stakeholders with a passion for public art and civic engagement.
Applicants will be added to a roster of qualified candidates and may be invited to serve on a committee as public art opportunities arise. If you are interested in playing an active role in bringing meaningful and inspiring public art to Manhattan Beach, we encourage you to apply.
