2025 Statewide Special Election

The 2025 Statewide Special Election on November 4, 2025, will be administered by the Los Angeles County Registrar/Recorder-County Clerk.  On August 21, 2025, Senate Bill 280 (Ch. 97, 2025) of the 2025-2026 Regular Session called a statewide special election for November 4, 2025. 

Los Angeles County In-Person Vote Centers Open:

11-Days: October 25, 2025 - November 4, 2025
4-Days: November 1, 2025 - November 4, 2025

Sample State Voter Information Guide Mailing

September 25, 2025 - October 14, 2025: Period in which the Secretary of State shall mail state Voter Information Guides to all households in which voters were registered by September 5, 2025. This mailing is based on the information provided by county elections officials to the Secretary of State by September 15, 2025.  

County Voter Information Guide and Polling Place Notice Mailing

September 25, 2025 - October 14, 2025: Suggested first day for the county elections official to begin mailing a county voter information guide and a polling place notice, which includes any vote centers, to each registered voter who registered at least 29 days before the election, unless the voter has opted to receive them electronically. The polling place notice may state whether the polling place is accessible to the physically handicapped. 

All County Counties Mail Every Active Registered Voter A Vote-By-Mail Ballot and Packet

October 6, 2025: Every active registered voter should have started to receive their vote-by-mail ballot and packet in the mail from the Los Angeles County Recorder/County-Clerk.  No later than this date, county elections officials shall begin mailing each registered voter a vote-by-mail ballot, a vote-by-mail packet that includes an envelope with instructions on the use and return of the vote-by-mail ballot, and other information including the locations and hours of each vote center in the county or polling place.  

Active registered voters that have not received their sample ballot, can contact the City Clerk's Office at (310) 802-5056 for assistance. However, registered voters can access an electronic version of their sample ballot online by visiting the Polling Place and Sample Ballot Lookup tool.

County elections officials shall have five days to mail a ballot to each person who is registered to vote by this date and five days to mail a ballot to each person who is subsequently registered to vote.

If you have any additional inquiries about elections, such as:

  • Am I registered to vote? 
  • Where do I go to vote in person? 
  • I did not receive my Sample Ballot
  • I did not receive my Vote-by-Mail Ballot
  • I mailed in my Vote-by-Mail Ballot and want to make sure the County received it.
