Manhattan Beach Mayor Powell Elected Commission Chair

Manhattan Beach, CA (January 30, 2015) — Manhattan Beach Mayor Wayne Powell was elected Chair of the Los Angeles County Beach Commission for a one year term. 

The Los Angeles County Beach Commission advises the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and the Los Angeles County Department of Beaches & Harbors on the operation, maintenance, development and promotion of County-owned or operated beaches from Malibu to Long Beach (including Manhattan Beach), and Catalina Island.

Mayor Powell was first elected to the Manhattan Beach City Council in 2009 and is currently serving a second term as Mayor.
