DESCRIPTION:<p><span class="subtitle">Safe.&nbsp; Secure.&nbsp; Recycled.</span><br>Waste Management, in partnership with the City of Manhattan Beach, is hosting a free paper shredding event!&nbsp; The event is open to City of Manhattan Beach residents and businesses only and is first come, first served.</p><p><strong>LOCATION:</strong> <br>Mira Costa High School Parking Lot, 1401 Artesia Boulevard, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266<br>The event will take place in the student parking lot at the corner of Artesia Boulevard and Peck Avenue.</p><p><strong>Dates of all four 2025 shredding events:</strong></p><ul>    <li>Saturday, August 2, 2025 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM</li>    <li>Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM</li></ul><p><b>REMINDERS</b></p><ul>    <li>Each household and business may shred a maximum of three (3) boxes (10x12x15) of documents during the event on a first come, first served basis.&nbsp;</li>    <li>This is a drive-thru only event; no walk-ups.</li>    <li>Shredding services are provided on a first come, first served basis and all documents collected will be confidentially shredded and recycled.</li>    <li>Once the shredding truck is full, it will leave the event and the event will be concluded for the day.&nbsp; Neither the shredding company staff nor Waste Management staff can transport materials in the cabs of their vehicles.</li>    <li>All community members participating in the event should carefully check any boxes of documents prior to event participation to ensure they are free of any non-paper items including medicine, pens, pencils, binder clips, paper clips, or other non-paper materials.&nbsp; Only paper documents will be accepted at this event.</li></ul><p>We thank you in advance for your kindness and patience with event staff!</p><p>To learn more about all the disposal resources available to Manhattan Beach residents and businesses, visit the <a href="/departments/public-works/refuse-services-trash-recycling-etc">Refuse Services section on the City website</a> or call <a href="http://manhattanbeach.wm.com" target="_blank">Waste Management</a> at (310) 830-7100.</p><h5>FAQ's</h5><strong></strong><p><strong>I have more than three boxes of paper documents that need to be shredded.&nbsp; Are there other resources available to me?<br></strong>Yes!&nbsp; The <a href="/departments/environmental-sustainability/how-can-you-go-green/zero-waste/document-destruction">City's Document Destruction page</a> highlights a couple options available for paper shredding.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Are you accepting any other materials for recycling at this event?<br></strong>No. Only paper for shredding will be accepted at this event.&nbsp; For resources on other disposal needs from bulky items to hazardous waste, please visit the <a href="/departments/public-works/refuse-services-trash-recycling-etc">City's Refuse Services page</a> or contact <a href="http://manhattanbeach.wm.com" target="_blank">Waste Management</a> directly at (310) 830-7100.</p><p><strong>Is this my only chance to participate in a free paper shredding event?<br></strong>No.&nbsp; There are four total events offered annually per our franchise agreement with Waste Management.</p>
