DESCRIPTION:<p><span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"><strong>Due to inclement weather, this event has been canceled.</strong></span> Please visit <a href="https://www.santamonicabay.org/what-we-do/projects/manhattan-beach-dune-restoration-project/" target="_blank">The Bay Foundation website</a> for other volunteer opportunities. </p><h2>Manhattan Beach Dune Restoration Volunteering</h2><p> Given the unprecedented amount of rain this winter, the project area now warrants removal of invasive species and maintenance of the existing sand fencing and signage. The City is seeking volunteers for our next community event. Join us on <b>Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM</b>. The CA State Coastal Conservancy is fully-funding the <a href="https://www.manhattanbeach.gov/departments/environmental-sustainability/beach-dune-restoration">Manhattan Dune Restoration</a> project through the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund and California Climate Investments, which are programs that put cap and trade dollars to work.</p><p>Parking lot entrance is near 45th Street, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266. Proceed south in parking lot, park as close to Rosecrans Avenue as possible (south end of lot). Additional parking is available at Lot 4.
