There will be modified residential refuse collection services due to the New Year's Day holiday (January 1- 3, 2026), and residential street sweeping will not occur on Thursday, January 1, 2026.

Refuse (Waste Management)
Waste Management observes the New Year's Day holiday; therefore, a modified residential refuse schedule will be in place for collection days January 1- 3, 2026.  Residential collection will be delayed by one day. Therefore, Thursday's route will be collected on Friday, and Friday's route collected on Saturday, January 3, 2026. If you have questions regarding your refuse service please contact Waste Management directly at (310) 830-7100. Check out all the holidays observed by Waste Management which will affect service days.

Street Sweeping ( SCA of CA)
SCA of CA observes the New Year's Day holiday; therefore, a modified street sweeping schedule will be in place for Thursday, January 1, 2026, only. Street sweeping will not take place on Thursday, January 1, 2026, and will not be made up. All other sweeping days that week will operate on a normal schedule and route.  For more information regarding the Street Sweeping services, please contact SCA of CA at (562) 861-4606.

The Police Department will not cite vehicles for street sweeping purposes on Thursday, January 1, 2026.

Holiday Tree, Lights and Additional Material Collection

Holiday Tree Recycling
Curbside tree collection for residents will occur on regular collection days from December 26, 2025 - January 10, 2026. Trees are to be placed at the curb or in the Organics cart for collection and adhere to the collection guidelines:

• Trees must be no taller than 7 feet or cut into 7-foot sections (Waste Management and City employees cannot trim trees)
• Please remove all decorations including tinsel, lights, ornaments and tree stands
• Flocked trees will be collected but cannot be recycled

Artificial Tree Disposal
Artificial or "fake" trees can be collected by Waste Management as part of their bulky item program. To schedule a bulky item pick up for an artificial tree, contact Waste Management directly at (310) 830-7100.

Holiday Light Recycling
Holiday lights and other electronic waste can be collected by Waste Management as part of their bulky item program. To schedule a bulky item pick up, contact Waste Management directly at (310) 830-7100.

Additional Material Collection
Residents can place bags of additional trash, recycling or organic waste (not bulky items) next to their corresponding carts for collection day from December 26, 2025 - January 10, 2026.
